One Artifex · bill splitter Open the app
No account · nothing to install

Everyone pays for exactly what they ordered.

Snap the struk. One Artifex reads every line, you tap who had what, and the service charge and PB1 land on the right people. Down to the last rupiah.

Free, works in the browser, add it to your home screen if you like it.

01 · How it works

Three steps, about a minute.

No typing out the menu, no spreadsheet, no doing sums at the table while everyone waits for the card machine.

  1. 01

    Scan

Photograph the receipt, crooked and dim is fine. A vision model reads every item, the quantities, the service charge and the tax.

  2. 02

    Check

The numbers come back next to the paper so you can glance down and compare. Anything off, fix it in place. One Artifex tells you when a bill does not balance, and by how much.

  3. 03

    Split it

Tap who had what, or split everything equally in one tap. The shares appear as you go, and the total is always the printed one.

02 · One link

Let everyone claim their own orders.

Send one link to the group chat. Your friends open it on their own phones and tap what they had. No account, no install, no app store.

Claims land live, so you watch the bill fill in. Items nobody claims settle onto whoever paid, so the bill is always whole. The link stops accepting claims after a day, or you can close it the moment everyone is done.

03 · A whole night out

Dinner, karaoke, kopi. One settlement.

Bank each receipt into one tab and record who fronted it. One Artifex merges everybody's shares across every bill, then works out the fewest transfers that square the group up.

Three bills, three different payers, two transfers. Nobody has to remember who paid for the taxi.

It is a tracker. One Artifex never touches your money and has no payment integration.

04 · The math

The shares always add up to the printed total.

This is the part most splitters get wrong, and the part that starts arguments. One Artifex's money engine is pure, unit tested, and deliberately boring.

05 · Receipts from anywhere

Built for struk, fluent in fourteen currencies.

One Artifex reads the currency off the receipt and formats the amounts the way that country writes them. It also knows the local name of the restaurant tax, and whether it sits on top of the menu price or is already inside it.

06 · Privacy

No account, no trackers, no receipt sitting on a server.

07 · Questions

The things people ask first.

Do my friends need to install anything?

No. They open the link you send, pick their name, and tap what they had. It is a web page, it works on any phone, and there is nothing to sign up for.

What if the scan reads a number wrong?

That is what the check step is for. Every item, quantity and charge is editable next to the photo, and One Artifex flags the bill when the lines do not add up to the total so you know where to look. You can also skip scanning entirely and type a bill in by hand.

What happens to items nobody claims?

They settle onto whoever paid that bill, so the split always sums to the printed total. You can also tap people onto items yourself for anyone who never opened the link.

Does One Artifex move the money?

No. It works out who owes whom and the fewest transfers to square everyone up, and that is where it stops. There is no wallet, no QRIS integration, no payment of any kind.

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no ads, no paid tier. Receipt reading runs on a free vision model, which carries a daily cap on scans, so on a heavy day scanning can pause. Manual entry and the sample bill always work.

Can I install it on my phone?

Yes. Add it to your home screen from your browser and it opens like a normal app, with its own icon. Your history and manual entry keep working without a connection.

Does it only work on Indonesian receipts?

No. It was built for struk and it is good at them, including bilingual menus and handwritten additions, but it reads receipts in fourteen currencies and falls back to the amounts as printed anywhere else.

Dinner is over. Split it before the driver arrives.

One photo, a few taps, and everyone knows what they owe.
